Jarubi

More affordable than an extended-stay motel

It was a lifesaver for me, and I really appreciate PadSplit.

For years, Jarubi rented a room in a long-time friend’s home. It was the perfect setup for her because she often traveled back and forth from Georgia to New Jersey to help her mother during her cancer treatment.

When her friend unexpectedly passed away from health issues this summer, Jarubi found herself in a bind.

Not only was she grieving the loss of her friend, but she had to move — and she had to move fast. She found a local extended-stay motel but says she quickly went through her savings with what they charged her each week for rent.

Knowing there had to be a better option, she searched for affordable places to live and found PadSplit. “Submitting my application was easy, and I was quickly approved to book a room.”

She loved having options and chose her particular PadSplit based on price and its location.

Almost two months into living in her PadSplit, Jarubi says her experience has been positive.

“My move-in went well, it’s pretty quiet, and the community has been nice. I love being close to a familiar part of town.”

It’s been so great that Jarubi told her daughter about PadSplit, and her daughter moved into a different home a few weeks later.

Jarubi is currently working full-time, but she says having a stable place to live has allowed her to focus on finding a new job that pays better. She’s saving money to purchase a new car and be able to visit her mother in New Jersey for the first time in months.

“I’m so happy you guys are here. It was a lifesaver for me, and I really appreciate PadSplit.”

Jarubi’s story is one we hear a lot at PadSplit. Many Members see PadSplit as a way for them to gain control in other areas of their lives. With flexible, affordable, safe housing, they can focus on writing a new story — one room at a time.
