What are PadSplit's income requirements?

At PadSplit, we're committed to making quality housing accessible. Our goal is to ensure you can comfortably afford your weekly payments without stretching yourself too thin (and still saving money in the process).
Our income verification process is designed to be flexible and accommodating to various financial situations. Here's how we work with you to find your perfect PadSplit home:
Easy Options for Verifying Your Income
- Automatic Verification with Plaid - Connect your bank account securely and Plaid will automatically detect your recurring income.

Document Upload - Provide pay stubs, bank statements, deposit records, or award letters. We'll review these to verify your income. PadSplit accepts the following documents:
- Screenshots will not be accepted
- Pay stubs: Two or more stubs covering at least one month. They should be in PDF format and include your full name, your employer's name, net payment amounts, and pay period dates. For W-2 income, stubs must be dated within the last 34 days.
- Self-employment income: Three months of official Lyft/Uber or other payout statements with your name and dates, or three months of bank statements showing income deposits.
- Bank statements: From the past 30 days, with all pages that show income deposits. Each statement should include your name, your payer's name, and the statement date.
- Government benefits: An SSI or SSDI verification letter issued within the last two to three months.
- Visa holders: Form DS-2019 or Form I-20.
Receiving Your Approved Rate
When you pass our Membership criteria and your income is verified, you will be approved for a maximum weekly room rate.
- For W-2 or 1099 earners: Your approved weekly rate will be half your verified weekly income
- For SSI recipients: Your approved rate will be two-thirds of your weekly income
