Stay Reviews

What are Stay Reviews?

Stay Reviews are ratings Members can submit every two weeks throughout their stay at a PadSplit property. Unlike Move-in Ratings, which capture a single snapshot of the move-in experience, Stay Reviews give you an ongoing pulse on how a Member's experience is holding up over time — from the condition of the property to how things are going with padmates and day-to-day life in the home.

Members can complete a Stay Review any time it's available to them, and each submission feeds into your property's overall Stay Review score.

How should Hosts use Stay Reviews?

Think of Stay Reviews as an early-warning system rather than a report card. Because they're collected throughout a Member's stay, not just at move-in, they can surface issues while there's still time to fix them and reduce the risk of early move-outs.

A few ways to put Stay Reviews to work:

  • Check them regularly. Make reviewing Stay Review feedback part of your routine property check-ins, not just something you look at when a problem is reported.
  • Look for patterns. A single low score might be one Member's bad week. The same complaint showing up across multiple Members or multiple cycles is a sign something needs your attention.
  • Follow up directly. Where it makes sense, use the feedback as a prompt to check in with Members through the messenger and address concerns before they escalate.
  • Use them alongside Move-in Ratings. Move-in Ratings tell you how a Member's experience started; Stay Reviews tell you how it's going. Together, they give you a fuller picture of your property's performance.

How do Stay Reviews impact you as a Host?

Stay Reviews are primarily a feedback tool — they're meant to give you actionable information about what's working and what needs to improve at your property. Acting on that feedback is one of the most direct ways to:

  • Extend Member tenure
  • Reduce vacancy
  • Increase your overall revenue

Your overall Stay Review score also factors into your eligibility for Gold Key Host status, so consistently strong performance here isn't just good for your Members — it's good for your standing as a Host on PadSplit.

How is a Stay Review score calculated?

Your property's Stay Review score is calculated in two steps:

  1. Each Member's scores are averaged. If a Member submits multiple Stay Reviews over the course of their stay, those individual submissions are averaged into a single score for that Member.
  2. Those Member-level averages are then averaged together. The result is your property's overall Stay Review score.

This two-step average means every Member who submits a Stay Review carries equal weight in your overall score — regardless of how many times they've submitted one. A single Member submitting reviews more frequently than others can't skew your property's score in either direction.

Can Hosts dispute a Stay Review?

Yes. We understand that ratings aren't always a perfect reflection of your property, and we don't want you penalized for things outside your control. Hosts can now dispute both Stay Reviews and Move-in Ratings. For details on eligibility, the evaluation process, and what to expect, see Disputing a Review.

Stay Reviews are one of the best tools you have to stay ahead of issues at your property. Using them consistently helps you build stronger Member relationships, protect your reputation, and grow your success as a PadSplit Host.
