The short answer: Your Host agreement gives PadSplit exclusive tenancy of your entire property. Off-platform renting, even informally, is a violation of that agreement and puts your account at risk.
What your agreement says
When you signed your Host agreement, you leased your property to PS-AA1, LLC. The permitted use clause in that agreement reads:
"Occupancy of Tenant and its duly admitted members, and other uses ancillary to the foregoing to the extent such ancillary uses are not prohibited by Applicable Laws. In no event shall Tenant make the Premises available for use by the general public for residential purposes or otherwise."
In plain terms: the only people permitted to live in your PadSplit home are PadSplit Members who have been admitted through the platform. Renting or otherwise allowing anyone to occupy a room outside of that process is not permitted.
Who this applies to
This requirement covers everyone over the age of 18 currently living in your home, including:
Why this matters
PadSplit Members live in shared homes. The screening process is what makes that environment safe and trustworthy for everyone. Off-platform occupants who have not been verified through PadSplit create liability for you as a host and undermine the safety of your other members.
Hosts with unverified non-member occupants remaining after May 15, 2026 will be subject to removal from the PadSplit platform.
