Meet Ray Nunez, New Market Sales Executive

August 05, 2022

Team PadSplit has grown a lot over the past four years. From a small office in Atlanta, GA to a fully-distributed team of more than 100 employees across 18 countries, we’re thankful for the team members committed to our mission to help solve the affordable housing crisis.

We’ve kicked off a series of employee spotlights to help you get to know the employees behind the keys.

Meet Ray Nunez, New Market Sales Executive at PadSplit

The PadSplit team is fully remote. Tell us where you’re based.

Orlando, FL

When did you join the PadSplit team?

I joined the team in August 2021 because I wanted to work for a company with core values. I wanted to make a difference in the community I live in while earning a living.

What is your favorite core value and why?

My favorite core value is Intellectual Curiosity: Asking questions, experimenting, and valuing knowledge and wisdom for its own sake.

Tell us what a day in the life of your role looks like.

After my morning rituals of reading and making coffee, I would check my day’s agenda and make a plan to actively reach out to my pipeline of current Hosts in different stages of activation. Depending on the day, I’ll also have meetings with prospective Hosts and share more about the PadSplit model with them. It’s important for our team to maintain our pipeline’s accuracy, so we spend a lot of time checking in with Hosts for updates on where they are in their respective Host journeys.

What are you working on that you are most excited about? Why?

Personally, I am working on getting up to 10 PadSplits this year. The ability to provide affordable housing while generating generational wealth is super exciting to me. I’m looking to double my portfolio next year with the money generated from my initial investment. The idea of loving my job and investing in it is what dreams are made of.

How do you stay engaged with your team in a remote environment? What does collaboration look like in a remote environment?

We’re a fully distributed team, so I love anytime we can get together (safely) in person. It’s a fantastic addition to the digital world. One of our PadSplit team members also leads a weekly meditation time, and I love incorporating that into my day.

In our weekly All Hands meeting as an ice breaker, we ask new employees to share two truths and a lie about themselves for the team to guess. Let’s play with you. Tell us two truths and a lie about yourself.

I’ve been to more than 15 music festivals.

I have a collection of comics and cards worth over $20k.

My cousin is Rihanna’s personal assistant, and I once met her at a family retreat.

Thanks for sharing more about what you do, Ray! Stay connected with Ray and PadSplit on LinkedIn.

Psst: Ray’s cousin IS Rihanna’s assistant but he hasn’t met her. In fact, he’d just started at PadSplit and missed the opportunity to take a trip to meet her. Talk about a commitment to the mission! Did you guess correctly?
