How to Complete Your Move-Out
We want to make your move-out as smooth as possible. Follow the steps below and you'll be all set.
Before Your Move-Out Day
- Not ready to leave PadSplit? Transferring to a different home may be a better fit — and your first transfer is free!
- Schedule your move-out date through your Member Dashboard
- Review any special instructions from your Host
- Plan for a 9:00 AM checkout on your move-out day, unless your Host has specified otherwise
On Your Move-Out Day
Complete these steps in order before you leave:
1. Clean your room and pack your belongings Pack all personal items and clean your space thoroughly. Follow any specific instructions from your Host. Be sure to check shared spaces — kitchen, bathroom, and common areas — for anything that belongs to you.
2. Return your keys If you've been given a physical set of keys, leave your keys in the location your Host has designated. If you're unsure where that is, check your Host messages or reach out through the PadSplit messenger to confirm before your move-out day.
3. Take photos Once the room is clean and keys are placed, take at least two clear photos of:
- Your clean room
- Your keys in their designated location (if applicable)
4. Log in to your dashboard and tap "Complete Move-Out" You'll see a "Complete Move-Out" button at the top of your dashboard. Tap it to be guided through the final steps, including uploading your photos and completing the move-out form.
⚠️ Complete your move-out form to receive your refund for your last day. Your move-out isn't finalized until the form is submitted — don't skip this step!
5. Settle any remaining balance Before you go, make sure there are no outstanding charges on your account. You can review your balance in your Member Dashboard.
